Our best pouch ever
We’ve redesigned our packaging to make it lighter, easier to recyclable, and better for transport without compromising taste. Right now, our iconic pouches are among the lightest in the category, using up to 80% less material than a PET bottle, and creating 67% fewer CO₂ emissions along the way (Life Cycle Analysis Study 2022, ifeu Institute). We're rolling out mono-material pouches across Europe, and our cardboard sleeves already contain 70% recycled paper.
Our Lightest and most sustainable packaging ever
- A 200ml pouch weighs only 4.6g, less than half the weight of a Tetra Pak.
- It produces 67% lower CO₂ emissions than a PET bottle, and 22% less than Tetra.
- A truck filled with Capri-Sun delivers 94% beverage, only 6% packaging.
- New bottle and 330ml pouches are kerbside recyclable. The bottles are made from 100% rPET, while the 330ml pouches are made from polypropylene (PP).

Our journey to become a circularity champion
Capri-Sun is moving toward a future where all our packaging is recyclable within a circular economy framework. Beyond our fully recyclable pouch, we're also making it easier to recycle, by providing clear instructions on our packaging and educating on our website. Our goal is a fully circular system, and we’re moving fast to get there: Rolling out our new fully recyclable pouch and using 60% recycled paper on our fully recyclable cardboard boxes. And we’re not done yet.

Lighter Packaging
= Lower Emissions
Our iconic pouch is the lightest in its category. The new, recyclable pouch also has the lowest carbon footprint of any beverage packaging in the world. By introducing the new pouch, we reduce CO2 emissions by a further 25% compared to our current pouch.
Our Climate Actions
- Local production: manufacturing close to our markets helps cut transport emissions.
- Electric car fleets: we’re working to identify reduction potential for our emissions across the value chain in line with global net-zero goals.
- Clean-up: nearly 250kg of waste was collected by employees in a Capri-Sun clean up task
- At Capri-Sun, we not only love delicious drinks, but also clever ideas for saving energy. ISO 50001 certification in Germany: ensures continuous improvements in energy management and efficiency. Various optimisation measures have enabled a total of over 700,000 kWh of electricity to be saved in production. This corresponds to the energy equivalent of a small village with 200 households—a clear step toward greater sustainability and efficiency.
